Hi, I'm back again. See that long title? I'm bad at making catchy titles, so I'll settle with that. And of course, this post is going to be about just that. I'm genuinely happy with how the music scene in Indonesia has turned out. The idea of chasing that "band dream" or carving yourself out as a music artist feels like a real, tangible thing now, doesn't it? Going to gigs, concerts, festivals, and things alike has become the go-to "healing method," as the younger demographic would call it, and honestly, I'm completely here for it. So now, you might ask: what's the indifference about? To put it simply, it's about the product that comes out of all this. What kind of music is actually dominating the airwaves these days? Well, from my own little research—which included asking some friends in what I'll generously call a survey—the answer is, overwhelmingly, melancholic music.
